2005 is a very important celebratory year for the DPRK since it marks the 60th Anniversary of the Korean people’s victory over Japanese colonialism, the setting up of the DPRK, and the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea. LALKAR sends its most heartfelt congratulations to the people of Korea, the DPRK, the WPK and Comrade Kim Jong Il on these auspicious occasions and urges readers to attend the meetings being organised in London by the Preparatory Committee for the Celebration of the Foundation of the WPK. The first of these meetings is being held at Saklatvala Hall, Dominion Road, Southall on Saturday 8 October at 6 p.m., to be addressed by representatives of organisations who support the DPRK and its revolution, as well as by a representative of the DPRK embassy, while the second is at Marx Memorial Library, Clerkenwell Green (near Farringdon station) at 7 p.m. on Monday 10 October, to be addressed by representatives of the Korean people.
